Sebastian Kozub was born in Poland in 1998, and currently studies the cello at The Purcell School, Hertfordshire. Sebastian was The Purcell School Gala Scholar for two years, and was a finalist in The Purcell School’s Senior Concerto Competition in 2016. Sebastian has enjoyed success in competition at both national and international levels. Highlights include First Prize in the second, third and fourth National Competition for Young Cellists in Sochaczew, Poland and First Prize at the XII and XIII International Competition ‘Strings for Europe’. In 2015, he won First Prize in his age category and a prize for best performance of a work by a 20th century composer at the ‘Talents for Europe’ String Competition in Slovakia. Sebastian has performed as a soloist with the Lublin Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw, and also with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Kaunaus.
