BENJAMIN BAKER violin
Born in 1990 in New Zealand, Benjamin studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal College of Music graduating in 2014 with a Masters and the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Rose Bowl.
In 2013 Benjamin won 1st Prize and the Audience Prize in the Windsor Festival International Competition and was selected by Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT). Other awards include 1st Prize in the 2012 Royal Over-Seas League Competition and the Development Prize from the Michael Hill Competition.
Benjamin has appeared as soloist with the Royal Philharmonic, Philharmonia (conducted by Nicholas Collon), the Orchestra Wellington, London Mozart Players, Joven Orquesta de Salamanca and Romanian State Radio Orchestras. He has given recitals at major venues including Wigmore Hall, recorded for Champs Hill Records and appeared as soloist with the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company.
